Job summary

Sabir, Richardson & Weisberg (SRW) Engineering and Architecture PLLC in Jersey City, NJ seeks a Contract Specialist to assist with construction contracts workload, prepare project-specific contract books, and coordinate with Engineering Design Division, Project Management, and Procurement to create bids up to $200 million. Hybrid work arrangement: minimum four days in the office and at most one remote day.

Qualifications

• Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Architecture or a related technical degree from an accredited college or university.
• Have five (5) years’ minimum experience in developing, preparing, reviewing, and delivering contract documents for bidding on multidisciplinary A/E construction projects.
• Demonstrated ability to meet schedules and budgets for project deliverables.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn Bluebeam Revu, SharePoint, and other systems.
• Strong interpersonal, written, oral and collaboration skills with ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Prepare Contract books (project manuals) with complete project-specific requirements for construction and maintenance contracts.
• Coordinate scope of work with Engineering Design Division to ensure contract books reflect project needs.
• Provide guidance and review comments for bid quality and coordination of contract book elements.
• Advise on contract type decisions and develop project-specific payment provisions.
• Prepare soft cost budgets for Contracts Unit tasks.
• Maintain control of a diverse workload and stay within budget and schedules.
• Assist delivery teams with staging, milestones, hours of work, and custom contract conditions.
• Resolve contract issues with Engineering staff and other Authority departments.
• Collaborate with the agency law department on contracts with unique circumstances.
