Job summary

COWI is seeking a Bridge Engineer Specialist with extensive contract management expertise to oversee commercial and contractual matters across major U.S. projects.

This hybrid role in Seattle/Portland requires collaboration with project teams and Group Legal to manage changes, claims and risk, while coordinating with finance for payments. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in contracts administration, strong leadership, and the ability to navigate complex agreements.

Qualifications

• Degree or higher in engineering, construction, quantity surveying, cost engineering or legal fields.
• Active professional membership in relevant bodies preferred.
• 10+ years in contracts administration and commercial management in contractor or engineering consultancy.
• At least 5 years in a senior contract management position; experience with large design organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage deliverables and ensure timely contractual/commercial performance.
• Identify deviations, raise notices, value variations, and submit claims.
• Input into risk registers and ensure accurate documentation for profitability.
• Coordinate payments with project finance and monitor payment processes.
• Conduct periodic contract awareness training for staff.
• Lead frequent commercial meetings with client teams and support monthly progress reporting.
• Coordinate with document control, insurance coordination, and senior management.
