Job summary
Hill International seeks a Senior Constructability Review Engineer in Orlando, FL to evaluate highway and roadway designs during planning, design, and pre-construction phases. You will bridge design and construction, identifying constructability issues, risks, and opportunities for improvement before construction begins.
Ideal candidates have a PE license, 10+ years in transportation projects, and a strong background in design and construction coordination, with experience on DOT or major
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum 10+ years of experience in highway/roadway or transportation projects.
- Strong design and construction understanding for DOT/municipal projects.
- Experience conducting constructability reviews on major transportation projects.
- Knowledge of highway construction methods and sequencing.
- Experience with MOT and utility coordination.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead and perform constructability reviews for roadway, highway, bridge, interchange, and transportation projects.
- Review plans, specs, estimates, and contracts to identify challenges and risks.
- Evaluate construction sequencing, phasing, traffic maintenance, and staging strategies.
- Assess temporary traffic control plans for constructability and effectiveness.
- Identify conflicts, schedule risks, utility impacts, and access constraints.
- Collaborate with design and construction teams to develop practical solutions.
- Prepare detailed constructability review reports with findings and mitigations.
- Support procurement and pre-bid activities by addressing constructability questions.
- Coordinate with owners, agencies, contractors, and consultants on solutions.
