Job summary

Hill International seeks a Constructability Review Engineer in Orlando, Florida. You will evaluate highway and roadway design plans during planning, design, and pre-construction to ensure projects can be constructed safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, serving as a bridge between design and construction teams.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of highway/ transportation experience, strong knowledge of constructability reviews, and familiarity with DOT or FDOT projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in highway, roadway, or transportation infrastructure projects.
• Thorough understanding of highway construction methods and sequencing.
• Strong background in construction of transportation projects.
• Experience conducting constructability reviews on DOT, municipal, or major transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform constructability reviews for roadway, highway, bridge, interchange, and transportation infrastructure projects.
• Review engineering plans at 30%, 60%, 90% and Bid stage to identify potential construction challenges and risks.
• Evaluate construction sequencing, phasing plans, traffic maintenance and staging strategies.
• Assess temporary traffic control plans for constructability and operational effectiveness.
• Identify design conflicts, schedule risks, utility impacts, access constraints, and potential construction inefficiencies.
• Provide recommendations to improve constructability, safety, quality, maintainability, and cost-effectiveness.
