Job summary

The Concrete Project Manager at J.J. Barney Construction oversees teams delivering safe, high-quality concrete foundations and flatwork projects. This role manages planning, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and overall project control to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

Key duties include coordinating with foremen and engineers, maintaining document control, handling change orders, and ensuring clear communication with customers, vendors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of concrete construction experience and familiarity with concrete applications and processes.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings.
• Ability to handle correspondence with customers, vendors, and Project Team members in a professional manner.
• Ability to manage several tasks at once.
• Proficiency with project document controls such as Procore, Planswift, HCSS Plans & Heavy Job.
• Proficiency using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Strong work ethic with an unwavering commitment to quality and professional work.
• Ability to carefully follow written and verbal directions.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate and uphold safety, integrity, and core values across the team.
• Fully understand scope of work and pricing from drawings, proposals, and contracts.
• Meet with foreman to transfer project information and conduct pre-construction meetings.
• Request and submit required project documentation and notify other departments.
• Collaborate with safety and project teams to complete site safety inspections.
• Assist project engineers and construction teams to ensure progress via calls and visits.
• Review weekly progress, costs, change orders, and look-ahead schedules.
• Maintain document control for submittals, RFIs, drawings, specs, addenda.
• Manage change order process from identification to follow-up; log changes.
• Assist in progress invoices; prepare over/under billing statements.
• Close out projects with as-builts, warranties, and profit/loss analysis.
