J.J. Barney Construction seeks an experienced Concrete Construction Chief Estimator to lead our estimating team and drive profitable bids for concrete foundation and flatwork projects.

You will oversee all estimating activities, set standards, and collaborate with operations and business development to pursue opportunities. The role requires 10+ years in construction estimation with a strong background in concrete, labor, materials, and subcontractor pricing.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in construction estimating with emphasis on concrete foundation/flatwork
• Proven leadership and mentoring of estimating personnel
• Strong knowledge of concrete construction means, methods, and pricing

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the estimating department and establish standards
• Oversee complete estimating lifecycle from opportunities to bid submission
• Coordinate with operations and business development to align estimates with project goals
• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and comprehensive estimates including contingencies
• Maintain historical cost databases and monitor cost trends
• Develop client, subcontractor, and vendor relationships to support bids
