Job summary

Texas A&M University - Victoria's Information Technology department seeks a Supervisor for Computer Labs to lead lab staff, coordinate lab activities, and ensure continuous operations of all computer labs on site in Victoria, Texas.

The role requires sixty college hours and three years of related technical experience, with strong hardware/software knowledge, networking familiarity, and supervisory and communication skills. Starting salary is $18.58 per hour and negotiable based on qualifications.

• Broad knowledge of computer hardware, software, and related networks and peripherals.
• Analytical ability to identify and troubleshoot computer issues.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with faculty, staff, and students.
• Supervisory skills to supervise student workers.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills to coordinate lab activities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment in scope of authority.

Responsibilities

• Schedules computer lab staff and provides work direction to ensure continuous lab operations; schedules and coordinates lab activities.
• Analyzes and resolves computer hardware and software problems that cannot be resolved by computer lab staff.
• Coordinates computer lab resources for virtual academic instruction.
• Oversees the maintenance and repair of computer equipment and peripherals; and installation, maintenance, and upgrades of computer software.
• Mentors and trains computer lab assistants.
• Identifies, analyzes, and solves customer issues.
• Develops manuals and documentation processes for computer lab operations.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
