Job summary

Onyx Bio in Berkeley, CA (Onsite) seeks a Computational Biologist to lead integration of multiomic datasets and develop AI-driven insights into immune biology. The role spans biology, AI, and data platforms with potential leadership over time. A PhD plus 5+ years in the field and strong programming skills are expected.

You will work across WGS, scRNA-seq, TCR/BCR, proteomics, and metabolomics, building models and data products while ensuring high data quality and rigorous validation.

Qualifications

• PhD or equivalent in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Systems Biology, Computer Science, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of industry experience in computational biology.
• Deep expertise in analyzing multiomic datasets (scRNA, ATAC, TCR/BCR, bulk sequencing, proteomics/metabolomics).
• Experience developing ML or DL models for biological data and feature discovery.
• Strong software engineering and data infrastructure capabilities for productizing models.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategy and execution for processing, analyzing, and integrating multiomic data with longitudinal real-world data.
• Build and deploy AI models, foundation models, and computational infrastructure to model immune system dynamics.
• Drive cross-functional initiatives spanning computational biology, AI research, data infrastructure, and product development.
• Collaborate with external academic and industry partners to deliver translational insights and data productizations.
