Job summary

Axle is seeking a Bioinformatics/Data Scientist to join the NIH SOM Center in Frederick, MD, analyzing multi-omics data from organoid systems to assess fidelity and identify biomarkers while developing computational quality-assessment frameworks.

The role requires a PhD in a quantitative field, expertise in single-cell analysis (Seurat/Scanpy), and strong R/Python skills; you will collaborate with experimental teams and contribute to manuscripts and conferences.

Qualifications

• PhD in bioinformatics, computational biology, biostatistics, or related quantitative field.
• Extensive experience with single-cell data analysis using Seurat, Scanpy, or similar tools.
• Strong programming skills in R and Python; experience in statistics and data visualization.
• Knowledge of proteomics and metabolomics data analysis workflows.

Responsibilities

• Analyze complex multi-omics datasets (single-cell and bulk RNA-seq, proteomics, metabolomics) from organoid systems and tissue counterparts.
• Develop computational pipelines for data processing, QC, and statistical analysis.
• Integrate SOM Center data with public datasets to benchmark organoid characteristics against normal tissue profiles.
• Collaborate with experimental teams, guide protocol optimization, and contribute to manuscripts and conferences.
