Job summary

Northern Trust in Chicago is seeking a seasoned Compliance Surveillance Technology Leader to own surveillance platforms, guiding eCommunication, Trade Surveillance, and Employee Ethics Monitoring initiatives across the enterprise.

You will partner with Compliance, Engineering, and Vendors to design scalable, secure architectures; evaluate AI/ML enhancements, enforce governance, and ensure regulatory compliance while mentoring engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in software engineering, integration, or solution architecture.
• Experience in Compliance/Regulatory Surveillance or AML domains.
• Hands-on with Global Relay, TradingHub, ACA, Smarsh, NICE Actimize, Behavox.
• Strong knowledge of AI/ML concepts and data analytics for surveillance.
• Familiar with SaaS integrations, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud tech.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical lead for eCommunication, Trade, and Employee Ethics Monitoring platforms.
• Collaborate with Compliance Tech Managers, Engineering Leads, and stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant solutions.
• Lead design reviews and assessments for new surveillance use cases.
• Drive governance, data security, and enterprise architecture alignment.
