Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring for a Winter Seasonal role with the Ski & Snowboard School operations team. The position involves daily grooming and setup of on-mountain teaching areas, maintenance of park features, and coordination across multiple mountain teams. A strong emphasis on safety, teamwork, and guest service is required.

The role requires a valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to work long hours in winter conditions, and skiing ability at Level 6+ with equipment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. – required.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English – required.
  • Ability to ski and work outside in all weather conditions, 8+ hours per day – required.
  • Able to ski/ride with equipment.
  • Intermediate or higher skiing or riding ability: Level 6+ – required.
  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings, and holidays – required.

Responsibilities

  • Daily grooming/maintenance of kids’ trails via snowmobile nordic grooming and hand shoveling.
  • Daily set up and tear down of outdoor teaching areas.
  • Installation and maintenance of Ski & Snowboard School Park features and terrain.
  • Weekly schedule for cleaning of on-mountain facilities including restrooms and trash & recycling zones at the top of lifts and in Ski School areas.
  • Maintenance of padding, fencing and signs on Ski School trails, teaching zones, and competition areas.
  • Snow shoveling of entry ways, decks, learning areas and magic carpet belts.Snowmobile support for on-mountain projects, competition race & events, guest assistance.
  • Providing positive, informative and courteous communication with guests and other employees.
  • Operate with cooperation and support, creating a “team spirit” working environment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Ski and ride, every day, while at work! The Competition Services team is responsible for the setup/tear down and maintenance of our Ski & Snowboard School facilities, on-mountain kids’ trails, competition and event venues, and other mountain operation needs. This position operates as a part of a wider team and interfaces with many teams and groups across the mountain. A successful attendant must be willing and able to complete job duties in extreme winter weather conditions for extended periods. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to pass a vehicle/snowmobile driving check.

Job Specifications
  • Sarting Wage: $23.00/hr – $29.22/hr

Job Responsibilities

Job Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to, and sometimes more than, 50lbs – required.
  • Ability to work with power tools (cordless drills, etc.) – required.
  • Ability to safely operate authorized vehicles – required.
  • Valid U.S. Driver’s license – required.
  • High school diploma – required.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English – required.
  • Ability to ski and work outside in all weather conditions, for 8+ hours per day – required.
  • Able to ski/ride with equipment
  • Intermediate or higher skiing or riding ability: Level 6+ – required.

  • Race course operations or background – preferred.
  • USSA official’s license – preferred.
  • Ability to operate a snowmobile (need a valid driver’s license) – preferred.

The expected pay range is $23.00/hr – $29.22/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
