Job description

Protective is hiring a senior-level compensation professional to support the company's compensation programs. Reporting to the VP, Head of Compensation and Benefits, the successful candidate will play a key role in administering Protective's compensation initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement comprehensive compensation strategies aligned with company goals to attract, retain, and motivate talent.
  2. Design and oversee executive compensation programs, including base salary, bonuses, and long-term incentives. Maintain and update the company Career Framework as needed.
  3. Provide support for compensation analysis and integration during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions and policy alignment.
  4. Conduct market research and benchmarking to maintain competitive compensation practices. Analyze trends and recommend adjustments accordingly.
  5. Collaborate with HR partners and senior leaders to ensure alignment of compensation programs with business strategies.
  6. Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key compensation metrics and trends.
  7. Assist with the accounting of compensation programs.
  8. Continuously evaluate and improve compensation processes and systems for better efficiency and effectiveness.
Skills/Abilities:
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in compensation analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent consulting skills and experience working with senior leadership.
  • Extensive knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, HRIS, and accounting systems.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, human resources, or related field (preferred).
  • HR certifications such as CCP, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP (preferred).
  • 7-10 years of experience in compensation analysis, especially in executive compensation and M&A contexts.
  • Experience managing long-term incentive plans for private companies (preferred).
  • Experience with Career Frameworks and Compensation Software (preferred).

Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $97,500 to $149,500, depending on factors like location, skills, and experience. This range is part of the total compensation package, which may include additional incentives based on performance.

This position offers additional incentive opportunities through an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.
