Job summary

Mainstream Living in Ames, IA seeks an Assistant Team Leader (ATL) to provide services and support in community-based settings for individuals with intellectual disabilities and brain injuries. You will assist Team Leaders and the Program Director, oversee DSP staff, and handle direct service tasks alongside administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field and some Human Service experience, or
• AA/2 year degree and some human service experience, or
• High School Diploma or Equivalency/HiSet/GED and minimum of 6 months Human Service Experience

Responsibilities

• Participate in interviewing, welcoming, onboarding and initial training of new employees as assigned.
• Primary responsibility for completion of staff work schedule, ensuring that all shifts are covered.
• Approve DSP timecards, monitoring for accuracy, overtime reduction and as outlined by policy.
• Monitor DSP performance when on site. Provide feedback when necessary and communicate observations and issues to Team Leaders and Program Director.
• Code, approve and submit employee expense reimbursements and agency vehicle mileage.
• Monitor sites for safety and maintenance needs. Receive and complete maintenance requests and monitor delays or issues.
• Ensure routine checks and emergency drills are completed and submitted.
• Assist with oversight of DSP staff and assume primary responsibility for the Team Leaders and Program Director caseload in the absence of the Team Leaders and Program Director.
• Provide backup assistance if the Team Leaders and Program Director are absent.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Maintain weekly balance of direct care shifts and adapt to changing needs.
