Chicago Public Media seeks a Community Stewards Lead to build and lead the stewardship program for Chicago.com. You will recruit and coach stewards across five neighborhoods, develop training materials, and establish performance dashboards to guide growth and engagement.

Ideal candidates combine people management with program-development expertise, capable of coordinating with product, marketing, and editorial teams to scale the program effectively.

Qualifications

• Experience managing, coaching, or developing people across multiple locations or communities.
• Experience building or operating community programs, membership programs, or ambassador networks.
• Strong facilitation and training skills enabling peer learning and structured guidance.
• Ability to develop playbooks, workflows, and documentation for scalable programs.

Responsabilités

• Recruit, onboard, and manage Community Stewards across neighborhoods.
• Build and maintain a stewardship playbook and training resources.
• Coach stewards on neighborhood strategy, content, moderation, and community engagement.
• Drive community performance with metrics, dashboards, and learning loops.
• Foster cross-functional collaboration between stewardship, product, marketing, and editorial teams.
• Prepare the program for expansion, including recruiting and onboarding new stewards.
