Job summary

IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services serving commercial, industrial, residential and renewable energy markets. The Communications Technician II role leads a small technical team, coordinating daily workload, while ensuring safety, quality and regulatory adherence.

As a direct-hire, full-time position, you will install cabling, terminate jacks, assemble racks and patch panels, perform testing, and train junior technicians.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two years in telecommunications or related field with supervisory ability.
• Proficient with listed tools and able to interpret blueprints and documents.
• Must know universal color codes and meet driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Install outlets and terminate CAT 3/5, mount face plates, label to standards.
• Build and install racks, patch panels, grounding; install IDC connections.
• Perform testing with volt-ohmmeter and troubleshoot cabling.
• Identify active voice or data circuits.
• Supervise crew and coordinate personnel and schedule.
• Complete paperwork: timesheets, work orders, transfers.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards; follow regulations.
• Handle additional duties as assigned.
