Job summary

IES Communications, LLC is seeking a Communications Technician II to lead a small team of installers and manage daily workload while adhering to safety and quality standards. The role involves coordinating crew performance and completing required paperwork accurately and on time.

You will install outlets, build closets, perform testing, identify circuits, and ensure proper labeling. Requires 0–2 years in telecommunications or related field and HS diploma; driving standards apply.

Responsibilities

• Install a work area outlet for floor, modular furniture and wall; terminate CAT3 & CAT5; mount face plates and surface mount boxes; follow labeling standards.
• Build closets: mount/install backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic and hardware; install grounding for racks and cables; complete IDC connections.
• Testing: perform continuity tests, use volt-ohmmeter, troubleshoot opens/shorts; transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable; use tone set.
• Identify active voice or data circuits.
• Coordinate crew performance and provide training; manage personnel and timeline to complete projects.
• Complete IES COMMERCIAL paperwork accurately and on time (timesheets, transfers, work orders, etc.).
• Adhere to all company, customer and industry quality and safety standards.
• Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned.
