Job summary

IES is seeking a Communications Technician II in Fort Worth, TX to lead a small crew of installers, coordinate daily workload, and ensure safety and quality standards are met. Responsibilities include installing outlets, building closets, performing tests, and maintaining paperwork.

Candidate must have strong problem solving skills, ability to read blueprints, and be capable of traveling within the territory. Full benefits after 30 days, with a full-time direct hire arrangement.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum of two (2) years in telecommunications or related technical field and able to supervise others.
• Proficient with listed tools.
• Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents including specs and quality requirements.
• Know universal communications color codes.
• Meet Company driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Install work area outlets for floor, modular furniture and wall; terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks; mount face plates and boxes.
• Build closets: mount backboards, cross connects, racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware; install grounding.
• Perform testing: continuity test, volt-ohmmeter use, troubleshoot opens/crosses/shorts/transpose pairs.
• Identify active voice or data circuits.
• Coordinate crew performance and provide training; manage timelines to complete project.
• Complete all IES COMMERCIAL paperwork timely (timesheets, transfers, work orders, etc.).
• Adhere to all Company, customer and industry quality and safety standards.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
