Job summary

IES Communications is seeking a Communications Technician II to act as a lead on a technical team, coordinating small groups of installers and ensuring safety and quality standards are met while delivering cable installation projects.

Responsibilities include installing outlets, testing circuits, identifying active voice/data circuits, completing paperwork accurately, and traveling within the region as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field and ability to supervise others.
• Proficient with listed tools.
• Able to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including specifications and quality requirements.
• Must know universal communications color codes.
• Must meet company driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate small groups of installers and lead daily workload.
• Install outlets, terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks, mount face plates and boxes.
• Perform testing: continuity test, use volt-ohmmeter, troubleshoot opens, shorts and crossed pairs.
• Identify active voice or data circuits.
• Provide training and coordinate personnel to complete projects.
• Complete all IES COMMERCIAL paperwork accurately and on time.
• Adhere to safety and quality standards.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
