Grumman|Butkus Associates is seeking a Commissioning Project Lead in Madison, WI. The role manages M/E/P/FP engineering teams on two or more projects and coordinates with the Client to ensure successful commissioning and retro-commissioning.

You will guide technical teams, review documents, and ensure adherence to EJCDC and AIA framework while driving high-quality outcomes and efficient field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university or equivalent experience.
• Registered Professional Engineer preferred.
• Expert level knowledge of codes, standards, materials, details, and construction techniques.
• Expert level knowledge of HVAC sub-systems, including temperature controls.

Responsibilities

• Understands mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
• Oversees preparation of construction checklists and functional test procedures and commissioning sections of specs.
• Familiar with EJCDC General Conditions, Contracts, and related documents.
• Review shop drawings and materials for commissioning documents.
• Prepares field observation reports and commissioning issue logs.
• Produce accurate, well written technical correspondence and reports.
• Evaluate design/documentation for compliance with Owner’s requirements.
• Participate in development of company standard technical procedures.
