Job summary

Johnson Controls in Memphis, TN, is seeking a Commercial Installer to set up and program integrated fire and security systems on site for commercial customers. The role includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment as required.

You will follow schematics, test operations, coordinate with authorities, and mentor junior installers on larger projects. A high school diploma or GED, blueprints proficiency, and 6+ years’ electrical experience are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience with electrical and electronic equipment is needed.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics is important.

Responsibilities

• Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required.
• Work safely to avoid injuries and clean up debris.
• Contact customers before installation to confirm schedule.
• Prepare estimates following supervisor directions.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Test system operation and log to the signal-receiving center.
• Read building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as needed.
• Coordinate with police/fire departments and manage emergency notifications.
• May lead installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
