Job summary

Johnson Controls in Las Vegas is seeking a Commercial Installer to work on-site with commercial customers, setting up and programming Integrated Security fire and security systems, and dismantling/reconstructing equipment when needed.

You will read blueprints, follow wiring diagrams, test systems, and coordinate with police/fire departments. The role may involve leading installation teams and mentoring junior installers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some technical school training is a plus.
• 3+ years electrical and electronic equipment experience with demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to operate a fleet vehicle safely.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Installs devices and dismantles/reconstructs equipment per customer needs.
• Works safely to prevent injuries and clean installation debris.
• Contacts customers to verify installation schedules.
• Prepares estimates according to supervisor directives.
• Follows wiring diagrams and hookup procedures.
• Tests system operation and connects to signal-receiving center.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and manages emergency notifications.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced installers.
