Job summary

AVDG, the premier AV integrator, seeks a Commercial Service Technician in the New York area to service and troubleshoot enterprise AV systems. You will be the face of our service team, delivering on-site support to ensure projects meet performance targets.

In this role you will train clients, perform preventative maintenance, install and troubleshoot AMX/Crestron/Extron systems, manage cabling and mounting tasks, and document outcomes with detailed service reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2+ years of relevant experience in the Commercial AV industry environment.
• Experience with Control systems (AMX, Crestron, Biamp, Q-Sys, Extron, Dante) is highly desirable
• Advanced computer skills with PC and Mac operating systems
• Familiarity with Apple IOS products related to AV control
• Knowledge of pre-wire, trim, and final phases of AV projects

Responsibilities

• Servicing and troubleshooting of commercial automation systems including distributed conference room video, audio, lighting, and shades
• Provide training to clients on the use of AV systems
• Engage in preventative maintenance visits to maintain client systems
• Perform equipment delivery and associated responsibilities
• Carry out service tasks including pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projectors and TVs
• Conduct field installation of control programs (AMX/Crestron/Extron/Dante) - upload, download, code changes
• Interface with clients to determine issues and communicate resolutions
• Provide detailed reporting at the end of each service call
