Job summary

Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles seeks a supervisory Health Information Management coder to oversee HID coding policy and procedures. You will supervise staff, assign work, and ensure deadlines are met while aligning with department and center goals.

You will develop training programs, monitor coding quality, and collaborate with Revenue Cycle, EIS, and Patient Financial Services to ensure timely, accurate data and compliant processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; AS degree preferred.
• CCS/CPC/RHIT/RHIA credential required upon hire.
• 2+ years supervisory experience in coding.
• 2+ years of outpatient/ambulatory or inpatient coding experience.
• Familiarity with ICD-10-CM, CPT-4 and APC methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Oversees coding policy and procedures for the department.
• Manages staffing, workflows, performance reviews, and schedules.
• Develops education and training programs for compliance and coding.
• Monitors, reconciles, and optimizes coding quality and productivity.
• Collaborates with Revenue Cycle, EIS, and Patient Financial Services.
