Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Senior Code Compliance Officer to lead Animal Care and Control activities at the Everyday Adoption Center. You will supervise Animal Shelter Technicians, promote adoption goals, and maintain high levels of customer service and records.

Responsibilities include coordinating with partners, ensuring proper animal evaluations, and delivering leadership and training. The role requires strong administrative skills and the ability to work rotating shifts, weekends,

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience with animal care and control or related field.
  • Must obtain Animal Control Officer Basic Certification within six months of hire.
  • Must possess or obtain an Euthanasia Certification within four months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers, partners and stakeholders to resolve complaints and violations.
  • Evaluate animals for adoption and assist with matching with adopters.
  • Provide leadership and training to staff/volunteers on procedures and accuracy.
  • Maintain daily, weekly, monthly and annual records.
  • Assist with prioritizing assignments and maintaining a safe work environment.
  • Build effective working relationships within the team and with the public.
  • Perform administrative duties using shelter software and handling money.
  • Assist with cleaning to maintain a welcoming environment at the Adoption Center.
  • Transport animals using City vehicles as assigned.
