Job summary

Aptiv in Massachusetts is seeking a Principal Cable Design Engineer to own coaxial cable design from research through production sustainability and equipment improvements. You will serve as SME, drive design validation, and guide projects end-to-end with strong CAD capabilities.

The role requires 7+ years in coaxial cable design, deep knowledge of Mil-Specs and standards, and experience coordinating with engineering, program management and sales to deliver robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of coaxial cable design and manufacturing engineering experience.
• Design and develop cable products from concept through production release.
• Experience with Mil-Specs, industry standards and customer requirements.
• Strong CAD design and drafting abilities; ability to define test protocols.

Responsibilities

• Lead product design/development for customer-funded programs and new products.
• Specify designs, document materials, performance specs, BOMs.
• Create detailed drawings and procedures for manufacturing.
• Manage ECOs for existing designs and support production release.
• Collaborate with applications engineering, program management and sales.
• Develop testing plans, verify performance, and advise on tooling needs.
