Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coating and lining work on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify prep and cure, perform tests, and sign off at each stage, with Level 1 inspectors reporting to you on larger projects.

Requirements include AMPP CIP Level 2, current with 2+ years of experience under it, and familiarity with SSPC/NACE standards across tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 2 certification is required and current.
• Minimum 2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2.
• Strong knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating specification and data sheet; sign off at each hold point.
• Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs; ensure log quality.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; present results to owner and applicator.
