Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead the inspection of protective coating and lining work on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will plan hold points, verify surface preparation, application, cure, and sign off at each stage.

The role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification with 2+ years of experience, knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards, and the ability to stop work if out of spec.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 2 certification required and current.
• Experience inspecting coatings in industrial settings.
• Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface prep standards and coatings systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating specs.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at holds.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing.
• Dispost defects and specify repairs; supervise Level 1 inspectors.
• Write inspection and nonconformance reports; interface with owner and applicator.
