Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coating and lining work on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects with sign-off authority. You will plan hold points, verify surface prep, application, and cure, perform adhesion and holiday testing, and write inspection reports relied on by owners and engineers.

The role requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 with 2+ years in inspection, knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards, and experience with

Qualifications

AMPP/NACE CIP Level 2 certification required, current.
2+ years inspecting under CIP Level 2.
Knowledge of SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.

Responsibilities

Plan inspection hold points and testing from the coating specification and manufacturer data.
Verify surface preparation, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs.
Write inspection and nonconformance reports.
