Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coating and lining work on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects. You will sign off at hold points, verify surface preparation and curing, and perform adhesion and holiday tests.

The role includes supervising Level 1 inspectors and writing official reports for owners and engineers. Required AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 with 2+ years of inspection experience, plus knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards

Qualifications

• Requires AMPP (NACE) CIP Level 2 certification and 2+ years inspecting under it.
• Familiarity with SSPC/NACE surface preparation standards and common industrial coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coating projects.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating spec and data; verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off authority at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; disposition defects and specify repairs.
• Supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger projects and review their logs; write inspection and nonconformance reports.
