Job summary

Monaloh Basin Engineers Inc is seeking a Certified Coatings Inspector to oversee coating applications on industrial projects in the Pittsburgh area. You will ensure proper surface prep, environmental conditions, and coating quality meet project specs and safety regulations.

Qualifications

Certification: AMPP/NACE CIP Level 2 or Level 3 is required.
Minimum of 3 years of industrial coatings inspection experience in oil & gas, marine, bridges, or wastewater infrastructure.
Proficiency with inspection tools such as psychrometers, surface profile gauges, DFT gauges, and holiday detectors.
Strong familiarity with SSPC, NACE, ASTM, and ISO standards.

Responsibilities

Inspect surface preparation (abrasive blasting, chemical cleaning) and coating applications for project compliance.
Monitor and record environmental data including temperature, humidity, dew point, and substrate temperature.
Perform non-destructive and destructive testing, including DFT checks, holiday detection, and adhesion testing.
Document coating defects or deviations and generate detailed compliance reports.
Maintain daily inspection reports, logs, and photo documentation for QA.
Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and coating contractors to resolve issues safely.
