Job summary

E2 Consulting Engineers, Inc is seeking a Coating Inspector to provide field inspection of coating work on pipeline projects. You will verify compliance with client policies, safety procedures, and coating standards under the Chief Inspector, with potential duties as Utility Inspector when qualified.

Responsibilities include documenting daily inspections, verifying marks and coatings, and contributing to waste reduction while ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Two years coordinating and inspecting natural gas pipeline construction projects.
• Ability to read construction drawings, alignment sheets and valve maps.
• Knowledge of 49 CFR 192, ASME 31.8, OSHA; NACE CIP Level 1.

Responsibilities

• Inspect other contractors' work for permit and one-call compliance.
• Verify equipment, safety measures, records, drawings and GIS exist and are used.
• Ensure compliance with client's best practices and coating instructions.
• Verify gas lines are located and utilities marked; coatings are painted and flagged.
• Document daily progress; inspect material waste to reduce losses.
• Review HDD path and witness pull-throughs to protect coatings and joints.
• Witness hydrostatic tests and ensure calibration papers are attached to reports.
• Ensure pipelines are cleaned and dried before commissioning.
