Job summary

Accurate Personnel is hiring for a Lead CNC Setup Machinist in Elk Grove Village, IL. The candidate will set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment to produce complex precision components from bar stock to finished parts.

The role requires expertise across 3-, 4-, 5-axis milling and 2-axis turning, fixture design, tooling development, and CAM programming with Mastercam or Fusion 360. You will mentor machinists and drive process improvements in a high-mix environment.

Qualifications

• Set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment to produce complex precision components.
• Develop and design fixtures, workholding solutions, and tooling strategies.
• Create and modify CNC programs using CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360.
• Support milling and turning across multiple axes and configurations.
• Optimize processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cycle times.
• Interpret blueprints, GD&T and engineering specifications to ensure part conformity.
• Lead machining improvements and mentor other machinists.

Responsibilities

• Set up, program, and operate CNC machining equipment to produce complex precision components.
• Manage complete machining processes from bar stock to finished part.
• Develop and design fixtures, workholding solutions, and tooling strategies.
• Create and modify CNC programs using CAM software such as Mastercam or Fusion 360.
• Support machining operations across: 3-axis milling, 4-axis milling, 3+2 machining, 5-axis milling, 2-axis CNC turning.
• Optimize machining processes to improve efficiency, quality, repeatability, and cycle times.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and machining methods based on material and part requirements.
• Troubleshoot machining challenges involving tooling, fixturing, programming, and process performance.
• Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T requirements, and engineering specifications.
• Support production teams with setup guidance, process improvements, and technical expertise.
• Maintain a high standard of quality while meeting delivery requirements.
