Job summary

Johnson Controls International plc. is seeking a skilled Machine Operator III in Florida to set up and operate CNC and manual machining centers, fabricating metal parts to exact blueprints and specifications.

You will perform quality checks, insure safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement while coordinating with shifts and departments. You must be able to work with minimal supervision, read engineering drawings, and maintain equipment with preventative maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and 2 years of experience.
• Excellent communication & interpersonal skills. Ability to train new employees.
• Demonstrates an attention to detail and initiative.
• Ability to read, communicate and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, blueprints and engineering drawings in the English Language.

Responsibilities

• Fully competent to set up and operate metal fabricating machines to cut, bend, and form metal plates, sheets, and structural shapes according to blueprints and specifications.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, engineering drawings, and shop orders to determine machine setup, production methods, sequence of operations, and material requirements.
• Safety responsibilities including PPE usage, 5S and safety regulations, and maintaining a clean workspace.
• Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions; performs first article inspection for conformance to specifications.
• Communicates with other departments and management to meet customer expectations and report safety/quality concerns.
• Maintains production data and contributes to continuous improvement through time management and problem-solving.
