Job summary

Daniels Manufacturing Corporation (DMC) seeks a Machinist Lead to guide CNC turning operations, troubleshoot issues, and mentor machinists on the shop floor. You’ll ensure quality, schedule adherence, and productive tool life while collaborating with Engineering and Production teams.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong GD&T knowledge, and experience with CNC turning centers, micrometers, calipers, and CMM inspection. On-site shift supports 1st shift operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of machining experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC lathes or turning centers.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and manufacturing specifications.
• Working knowledge of G and M code programming and editing.
• Experience performing precision inspections using micrometers, calipers, and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily workflow within the CNC Turning Center, supporting production priorities and serving as the first point of escalation for machining issues.
• Set up and operate CNC turning centers, including multi-axis and live-tooling machines.
• Program, edit, troubleshoot, and optimize turning programs using G and M code.
• Conduct first article inspections and verify conformance to print specifications and quality requirements.
• Select and manage inserts, boring bars, and cutting tools to maximize productivity and tool life.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to improve processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Hold tight diameter, length, and surface finish tolerances across materials.
• Inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and CMM equipment as required.
• Lead shift handoff communication and ensure materials, tooling, and equipment are available for production.
