Job summary

Divergent is seeking a Lead CNC Machinist to coordinate a high‑volume, multi‑shift shop floor. You will lead a team of machinists, set up 3-, 3+2-, and 5‑axis machines, apply GD&T, troubleshoot complex processes, and drive improvements in throughput and quality across production weeks to quarters.

You will mentor peers, own machining operations from setup through stable production, and partner with engineering to enhance manufacturability while maintaining safety and standards on the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years CNC machining experience with multi-axis expertise.
• Experience leading peers, coordinating workloads, mentoring junior technicians.
• Advanced GD&T knowledge and machining process optimization.
• Troubleshooting complex machining processes and setups.
• Experience with dynamic work offsets and setup methodologies.
• Ability to operate independently with technical ownership.

Responsibilities

• Act as a floor lead, coordinating peer machinists and daily direction.
• Mentor less-experienced team members and delegate when needed.
• Lead setup and operation of 3-axis, 3+2, and 5-axis machines.
• Drive throughput, quality, and process repeatability improvements.
• Maintain setup sheets, tooling docs, and machining records.
• Ensure safety, compliance, and cross-team collaboration.
