Job summary

Lee Industrial Contracting in Pontiac, MI, seeks an experienced CNC Machinist to perform precision machining, write CAM programs, and mentor apprentices. You will set up and operate CNC equipment, read blueprints, and optimize tooling and process sequences to meet tight tolerances and schedules.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of CNC experience, strong CAM skills (Mastercam or GibbsCam), and proven ability to work independently while maintaining safety standards and quality documentation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machining experience.
• Ability to set up and operate CNC equipment independently.
• Strong knowledge of G & M code programming.
• Advanced blueprint reading and tolerance interpretation.
• Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam or GibbsCam.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform precision machining operations.
• Write CNC programs from 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using CAM software.
• Provide guidance and training to apprentices and Machinist 2 employees.
• Determine machining methods, tooling requirements, and sequencing operations.
• Set up and operate CNC machining equipment.
• Perform precision measurements and inspections to ensure quality.
• Read cad models, part prints, and tolerances.
• Calculate dimensions, tolerances, feeds, speeds, and cutting requirements.
• Maintain safety procedures and document progress with supervisors.
• Machine parts start to finish on various machines and mentor less experienced machinists.
