Responsibilities
- Independently perform precision machining operations.
- Write CNC programs from 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using CAM software.
- Provide guidance and training to apprentices and Machinist 2 employees.
- Determine machining methods, tooling requirements, and sequencing operations.
- Set up and operate CNC machining equipment.
- Perform precision measurements and inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Read and interpret cad models, part prints, and tolerances.
- Calculate dimensions, tolerances, offsets, feeds, speeds, and cutting requirements.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures
- Complete project documentation and communicate progress with supervisors.
- Machine parts start to finish on various machines.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced machinists.
Required Qualifications
- Machinist with 5+ years experience.
- Advanced knowledge of machining principles and practices.
- Ability to independently set up and operate CNC equipment.
- understanding of G & M Code programming and editing.
- Advanced blueprint reading capabilities.
- Ability to calculate speeds, feeds, thread dimensions, tapers, and machine offsets.
- Ability to perform precision measurement using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and bore gauges.
- Working knowledge of industrial rigging and material handling practices.
- Ability to safely operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and lifting equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid Driver's License.
- 3-5 years CNC machining experience.
- 3-5 years Cam software experience.
- Experience with overhead cranes.
- Familiarity with Mastercam/ Gibbscam software.
- CNC lathe experience a plus.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to ascend/descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and/or operate scissor/boom lifts while working at height.
- Work in permit & non-permit required confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move up to 50 pounds regularly/occasionally.
- Must be able to respond quickly to auditory alarms, visual signals, or other effective means to communicate hazards.
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces.
- Must be able to work in cold/hot environments.
- Must be able to traverse irregular and steep terrain.
