Job summary

Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials Inc. in Reading, PA seeks an experienced CNC Advanced Machinist Lead to drive the Machining Center of Excellence, mentor machinists, and coordinate with engineering, production and quality teams.

You will program CNC machines for high-precision parts, conduct first-article and in-process inspections, optimize workflow, and support safety and 5S standards in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience including program writing, setup and operation.
• Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, Mastercam, and 5-axis programming.
• Experience setting up and operating 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines.
• Ability to read drawings and understand tolerances; capable of first-article inspections.
• Prior lead machinist or team-leader experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Organize daily machining activities and optimize workload.
• Make data-driven decisions to meet production and quality goals.
• Coordinate with engineering, production, and quality teams.
• Identify process improvements to reduce waste and cycle times.
• Promote safety and the company's zero incidents goal.
• Program CNC machines for new parts with high precision.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections and adjust programs.
• Monitor orders to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with objectives.
• Record job details and production data in ERP.
• Lead by example and support team in maintaining 5S and quality standards.
