Job summary

Edwards US – Buffalo, NY, part of the Atlas Copco Group, seeks a skilled CNC Machinist III to operate and optimize high-precision machining processes. You will mentor teammates, support continuous improvement, and uphold safety and quality standards.

This role requires leadership, deep technical knowledge, and the ability to drive 6S practices, root-cause analysis with engineers, and pilot new setups in a busy manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CNC machining experience with demonstrated technical leadership.
• Proficiency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and CNC programming basics.
• Ability to perform advanced troubleshooting, setups, and precision adjustments.
• Strong communication skills and experience in cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Operate and troubleshoot HMC, mill-turn, grinder, and balancer machines across various part families.
• Serve as SME in safety, quality, and SOP compliance.
• Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex machining or process issues.
• Champion 6S workplace practices and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Lead root-cause analysis with engineers and team leaders when issues arise.
• Mentor and train junior machinists to develop skills and knowledge transfer.
• Recommend process optimizations and support pilot runs or new setups.
