Edwards Vacuum, a division of Atlas Copco Group, is seeking a CNC Machinist I for the Buffalo, NY area to learn and operate CNC equipment while developing foundational machining skills. The role supports production by following defined procedures and collaborating with more experienced machinists and engineers.

You will work on HMC, mill-turn, grinder, or balancer machines under supervision, following safety and quality SOPs.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years machining experience or technical education/certification in CNC machining.
• Ability to read basic blueprints and work instructions.
• Willingness to work in a team environment and receive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Operate HMC, mill-turn, grinder, or balancer machines under supervision; seek assistance when encountering operational issues.
• Follow standard safety protocols and quality procedures.
• Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and manufacturing guidelines.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area in alignment with 6S principles.
• Collaborate with Cell Support Engineers and Team Leaders to identify and resolve basic issues.
• Participate in ongoing training and skill development programs.
