Job summary

RTX, Columbus Forge, is seeking a Machining Working Lead to oversee daily machining operations for aerospace components. You will blend hands-on technical work with leadership, troubleshoot manufacturing issues, and drive continuous improvement while ensuring safety, quality, and production targets.

The role is a 1st shift, Monday–Thursday, 6:00 am–4:30 pm, with responsibilities across setup, operation, and optimization of CNC processes in a high-precision environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 6+ years of manufacturing experience.
• Experience setting up and operating CNC machining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead on production floor, provide technical guidance and mentor team members.
• Complete production transactions and maintain WIP status.
• Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining equipment to meet specs.
• Read blueprints, process sheets, and measurements to ensure parts meet engineering specs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and basic repairs to support reliability.
• Lead or attend daily Tier 1/Tier 2 meetings.
