Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne seeks a Supervisor for Starship Machining to lead a team of machinists and deburr technicians in building a world-class shop. You will own valve parts production, drive safety and quality, grow machining expertise, and coordinate with engineering to sustain increasing launch rates.

The role requires leadership, strong communication, and a hands-on approach to solving manufacturing challenges while maintaining high yield and on-time delivery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency is required.
• 4+ years in a manufacturing role.
• 5+ years as CNC machinist is preferred.
• 3+ years in a leadership role within manufacturing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise up to 25 machinists and technicians with daily work assignments and feedback.
• Track shop floor metrics with engineering to maximize delivery rate and yield.
• Set and maintain production schedules to meet demand and allocate workload.
• Ensure safety through training, PPE use, and mitigations; halt production if needed.
• Assist commissioning of CNCs and transition parts from prove-out to high-volume production.
• Drive 5S culture and manage tooling inventory, costs, and storage.
