Job summary

ASM Research seeks a Cloud Engineer - Windows to design, implement, and support cloud-hosted Windows server environments for federal clients, emphasizing secure, scalable operations.

You will build VM images, configure networking, IAM, monitoring, and CI/CD integration, and collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams to deliver compliant solutions. Applicants must hold US citizenship, be able to obtain a Secret clearance, and have hands-on Azure or AWS and IaC experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 4–7+ years of Windows system administration in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar).
• Experience with scripting/automation (PowerShell, Python) and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, IAM, logging, monitoring, and security.

Responsibilities

• Architect and administer Windows server instances in public or private cloud platforms.
• Design and implement cloud networking constructs (VNet/subnets, NSGs, load balancers).
• Automate Windows deployment and configuration using scripting and IaC.
• Integrate Windows with directory services and identity providers with proper access controls.
• Monitor and optimize Windows systems for performance, availability, and cost.
• Collaborate with security, DevOps, and applications teams to integrate Windows into CI/CD pipelines.
• Implement backup, recovery, and DR aligned with federal IT policies.
• Maintain documentation and runbooks describing architectures and procedures.
