Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to build Kubernetes-native cloud services, own CRDs and Go-based controllers, and implement secure, scalable platform capabilities across multi-cluster environments. You will advance developer experiences with Terraform providers and identity frameworks.

The role emphasizes secure, reliable infrastructure, IaC, GitOps, and AI-assisted development practices within a large financial services environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
• 5+ years of applied software engineering experience.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience with CRDs, operators/controllers, admission webhooks, and RBAC.
• Strong Go (Golang) proficiency in production-grade services.
• Solid knowledge of AWS cloud services (EKS, IAM, STS, VPC).
• Experience designing working with CI/CD pipelines and IaC (Infrastructure as Code).
• Experience with automated testing across integration, regression, and performance.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong organizational skills.
• Experience leading teams using approved AI-assisted development tools with code review and testing.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own and enhance Kubernetes CRDs and Go-based controllers across multiple clusters and cloud accounts.
• Design admission controls and webhooks to enforce platform standards and security.
• Develop secure cross-cluster communication and provisioning mechanisms with RBAC and IRSA.
• Improve Terraform providers, APIs, and authentication/authorization frameworks for cloud resources.
• Lead multi-region deployment strategies and IaC/GitOps automation.
• Promote engineering excellence with scalable design, testing, and ADRs.
• Adopt AI-assisted engineering practices and establish validation standards for AI outputs.
• Utilize SDLC tools and AI-enabled capabilities to improve automation value.
