Role Overview

The Lead DevOps Engineer is responsible for automating infrastructure and software deployment, architecting platforms, and supporting cloud delivery. You'll collaborate with teams across Architecture, Engineering, Software Development, QA, and Security to streamline CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

  1. Manage cloud implementations, upgrades, migrations, and change requests with reusable components.
  2. Create and implement scripts for automation.
  3. Establish and execute deployment pipeline strategies.
  4. Develop reference architectures and guide implementation.
  5. Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
  6. Maintain provisioning code supporting servers, containers, networks, and monitoring.

Additional Responsibilities

  1. Influence stakeholders to ensure consistent solution implementation.
  2. Provide cloud expertise during technology implementations.
  3. Participate in problem-solving to address quality issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

Analysis & Requirements Gathering

  1. Analyze technology towers and identify enterprise linkages and opportunities.
  2. Assess and prioritize technology needs, translating business requirements.
  3. Facilitate discussions to define business requirements for complex problems.

Role Progression (First Three Months)

  1. Familiarize with ACT DevOps processes and tools like Jenkins, Jira, Bitbucket, Ansible.
  2. Develop and implement tool roadmaps.
  3. Integrate into ACT development processes and participate in scrums.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in software development and IT operations, leading large-scale initiatives.
  • Experience with CI/CD automation tools, infrastructure automation, and cloud platforms (preferably AWS).
  • Proficiency with version control, Linux administration, and scripting languages like Python, Perl, or Ruby.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies, project management, and SDLC processes.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud certifications.
  • Experience with multiple IT infrastructure tech and managed services.
  • Participation in industry bodies or advisory groups.
  • Enterprise software development experience.

Additional Information

This is a remote, full-time position at the Mid-Senior level in Engineering and IT within the Education Administration Programs industry. Salary range is $140,000 to $175,000, with incentives. ACT is an equal opportunity employer and participates in E-verify.
