MISUMI Americas is seeking a Lead Cloud DevOps Engineer to own the AWS infrastructure that runs our multi-regional platform. You’ll be hands-on with CloudFormation and Node.js daily, leading infrastructure projects end-to-end and mentoring a small team.
You will design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, logging, monitoring, and security practices to ensure reliable, scalable, and cost-efficient operations across global environments.
Based in Oakland, CA / greater Bay Area, with the ability to work onsite as required
U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident (Green Card holder)
Strong track record designing and operating CI/CD pipelines
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Solid grasp of AWS security best practices — IAM, networking, encryption, least-privilege access
Expert-level, hands-on AWS experience across EC2, Lambda, IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, RDS, CodeBuild, and Elastic Beanstalk
Hands-on experience debugging systems and applications in production
Strong Linux systems experience
Extensive, real-world CloudFormation experience: authoring and maintaining complex templates, managing stacks across multiple environments, and handling updates, rollbacks, drift detection, and full stack lifecycle management
5+ years of hands-on, production experience writing Node.js code — building services, automation, or internal tools, not just deploying Node.js applications
10+ years in DevOps, Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, or Systems Engineering
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
Experience leading or mentoring engineers on infrastructure projects
Experience operating multi-region or globally distributed AWS environments
Cloud cost optimization / FinOps experience
Familiarity with containerized workloads (ECS, EKS)
Background in fast-growing or high-scale engineering organizations
