Location and Office Environment

Our office is located in Naperville, IL. We operate on a hybrid model, typically in-office T-TH and remote M-F, to foster a positive company culture and employee experience.

Position Summary

We are seeking a Lead Cloud Data Engineer to manage our Enterprise Data Platform (EDP). This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, design, develop, and maintain data solutions using Snowflake, DBT, Airbyte, and Prefect. The lead will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to the success of our data engineering team.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop cloud-first data ingestion processes using Python, SQL, Airbyte, S3, etc., into Snowflake.
  • Develop and maintain DBT workflows with DBT Core.
  • Assist in designing data models and infrastructure across various markets and datasets.
  • Participate in code reviews and support operational alerting systems.
  • Create tests to ensure data quality and platform stability.
  • Analyze and resolve issues in data pipelines and conduct root cause analysis.
  • Maintain existing data stores post-migration.
  • Collaborate with BI and Data Science teams to utilize data for analytics and reporting.
  • Define and estimate work for user stories with teammates.
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies in enterprise data platforms.
Qualifications
  • Over 10 years of IT experience, primarily in Data.
  • Extensive experience as a Snowflake/cloud data engineer.
  • Proven ability to develop data warehouse solutions with Snowflake.
  • Strong skills in Python, DBT, Snowflake, AWS (Prefect/MWAA a plus).
  • Passion for data analysis and strong analytical thinking.
  • Experience with code versioning and participating in code reviews.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of SDLC and Agile Scrum methodologies.
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Snowflake, DBT, Prefect, AWS services like Lambda, S3.
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
Certifications
  • Snowflake certification (Required).
  • AWS, Data Engineering, or DBT certification (Preferred).
Compensation & Benefits

The base salary range is $95,000 - $140,000 USD annually, dependent on experience and qualifications. Additional performance-based bonuses or commissions may apply. Benefits include health coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, education assistance, and wellness programs.
