Job summary
Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer Lead to architect and scale ARM64 compute platform functionality and hypervisor layers across Akamai Connected Cloud.
You will design, implement, review, and test production-grade code while guiding a team of engineers across global teams. The role emphasizes leadership in hardware enablement, cross-platform build pipelines, and workload performance optimization, with experience in KVM/QEMU, Linux APIs, and multi-architecture
Qualifications
- 12 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
- Deep familiarity with ARM64/AArch64 and x86_64 server platforms
- Experience with cross-compilation toolchains and multi-architecture deployment
- Knowledge of cloud compute virtualization technologies (KVM, QEMU) and container runtimes
Responsibilities
- Architecting and scaling high-density ARM64 compute platform functionality and hypervisor layers across ACC
- Designing, implementing, reviewing, documenting, and testing high-quality code
- Leading technical strategy for hardware enablement, cross-platform build pipelines, workload performance optimization
- Collaborating with global teams to build new compute features or fix bugs
- Providing leadership to a team of engineers
