Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Principal Software Engineer Lead to architect and scale high-density ARM64 compute platform functionality and hypervisor layers across ACC.

You will design, implement, and test production-grade code, while leading the hardware enablement strategy and cross-platform build pipelines. You will collaborate with global teams, drive workload performance optimization, and provide leadership to engineers, shaping the next generation of Akamai's cloud compute

Qualifications

• 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Mentor reports to excel and progress to higher responsibility.
• Deep familiarity with ARM64 / AArch64 and x86_64 server platforms.
• Experience with cross-compilation toolchains, system profiling, and multi-architecture deployment.
• Experience with cloud compute virtualization technologies (KVM, QEMU).

Responsibilities

• Architect and scale high-density ARM64 compute platform functionality and hypervisor layers across ACC.
• Design, implement, review, document, and test high-quality code with your team.
• Lead technical strategy for hardware enablement, cross-platform build pipelines, and workload performance optimization.
• Collaborate with peers and global teams to build new compute features or fix low-level bugs.
• Provide organizational leadership to a team of engineers.
