Job summary

Apos Society in New York seeks a Lead Clinician to join our therapeutic team in a specialized school setting. You will help lead our social-emotional program and integrate DBT into daily student experiences.

You will provide direct individual and group therapy, develop treatment plans with the educational team, and support families while collaborating with school staff. The role emphasizes ongoing professional development in DBT and clinical leadership.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field with NYS licensure.
• Foundational experience with Dialectical Behavior Therapy for Children or Adolescents (DBT-C/DBT-A) in clinical or educational settings.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with students, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group therapy sessions using Comprehensive School-Based DBT.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for students in collaboration with the educational team.
• Assess safety, respond to crises, and provide inter-session support between sessions.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
• Work closely with families, teachers, and external providers to ensure holistic student care.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to address student needs.
• Support teachers, staff, and administrators on implementing DBT strategies in the classroom in collaboration with the Clinical Director.
• Contribute to the ongoing development and implementation of the school's DBT program.
